Hugh Dancy
I suppose what I am looking for is to be intrigued in some way. Maybe have a
question raised that isn’t immediately answered for me.
It’s not often necessarily the case that you realize as you’re reading
something. It might be of the following few days. You know, it’s
percolating.
You know I’m pretty much open to anything from the three months in my
________(此字沒聽出來) experience….[…] So just jumping in if the person in
control has a kind of full vision of what they’re trying to do.
In terms of the relationship between the actor and the director, I think that
the really good ones somehow find their way to communicate wordlessly. They
support for what you’re doing and not in a precious way (不確定)… um… They
’re just glad you’re there. You know. […] They kind of alleviate when the
anxiety might have by the things they don’t choose to say, and enable you to
cast one thing off and try another.
Do you be take(←Hugh口誤)…what comes your way and that for me that kind of
adjusting myself to what I didn’t think I could do was probably the best
learning experience I have including anything I’ve done in the last ten
years.
James McAvoy
I really will to narrative. (←本句無文法,大膽猜測他想說 I really will do
the narrative.) It’s really important I think. Because, often times, when
you are standing behind a film set, rehearsing. It’s not really rehearsing.
[What] you do is devising because everybody’s gonna “What is this scene…
What are we doing?” And it’s because the narrative is sort of forgotten for
a little while sometimes…
It seems to be a lot of thoughts you have when just reading the script. You
not just learn the lines. But when you are reading script again again and
again, every time you read it you get new ideas and you write them down in
the script. So along with the words you made to be learning, you also kind of
remembering learning these notes in the script and all these ideas.
I see difficult thing for directors I think often times for directors …They’
ve got vastly less experience of making films. (聽不清楚,一美邊講邊動來動去,
都是他外套的聲音= =) There all technicians and actors around them. You know.
A director might make ten films …in fifteen years…and twenty years…
whereas all the people are working with him might make fifty in that time.
You know.
Your makings are very vulnerable to criticism, to commonation(此字沒聽懂), to
personal slander. It’s not many other walks of life where you are criticized
so personally. You heard about “I hate that actor.” Get said, “Oh I hate
that actor!” Strong ones.
Some people are great actors but it can’t …they would the lifestyle. ‘
Cause you can’t be in judge. (此句聽10遍也沒聽懂,已崩潰)There are so much
suggestion even for people who work regularly…[…] Drama schools are great
idea. I really do believe that. Theater goes for fantastic idea. It’s two or
three years where you get to be in an environment that is safe. You
vulnerability is protected. Nowhere than the professional world will you
manage to get twenty gacks(此字沒聽懂) and three years playing… you know,
all these different characters. You’re kind of there to feel.
