Suede in Vanity Fair I just picked up the November issue of of the US magazine Vanity Fair. It is their annual Music Issue. In it Beck lists the 50 best album covers of all time (well, his favorites anyways). Amongst them is Coming Up. Beneath the picture of the album cover it reads: Many bands attempt this retro graphic look, but Suede actually pulls it off. The heroin chic is a little obvious, but the solarized phantom figure with the disembodied grin rescues it, undermining the tragic fashion with a spontaneous dementia. Some of becks other choices of note were: The Velvet Underground & Nico- The Velvet Underground & Nico Iggy And The Stooges - Raw Power The Beatles- Revolver David Bowie - Pin Ups Sex Pistols - Never Mind The Bollocks Here's The Sex Pistols Prince- Lovesexy The Who - The Who Sell Out T-Rex - Electric Warrior (source: by Kit Moller, Vancouver, 28-10-2001) -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.csie.ntu.edu.tw) ◆ From: 140.123.212.37
