hi folks
this was supposed to go up on suede.net yesterday,
but there seems to be some kind of technical hitch,
so here's what happened . . .

BRETT PREVIEWS NEW MATERIAL AT BRISTOL POETRY FESTIVAL
Brett Anderson treated fans to a sneak preview of new
Suede songs during his headlining appearance at the
climax of the Bristol Poetry Festival last night
(Sunday 14th).
The Suede frontman read selected parts of various
lyrics from his back catalogue including "Killing
Of A Flash Boy", "Trash", "Introducing The Band",
"Beautiful Ones", "Heroine" and "Daddy's Speeding".
He also read from two new works. The very topical-
sounding "Refugees" contained the lines "Standing
at the traffic lights / threading through the
hostile cars / staring with our almond eyes / not
allowed in certain bars / We虐e all refugees /
drifting through doorways / walking the streets /
seeking asylum / safe from disease / we are all
refugees."
The other new reading was from "Simon", a song of
love and loss: "It's raining inside and it旧 raining
tonight and it旧 raining for me and for you / Cos
all that we see is a life fucked by money and a
world of celebrity fools."
The undoubted highlight, however, was when Brett
pulled out an acoustic guitar and sang three songs
to the delighted crowd. He opened with "Indian
Strings" from 1999's Head Music album followed up
with another new song, "Oceans" and ended with the
classic 1994 b-side, "The Living Dead."

we're planning to do a web based competition,
involving our favourite fan sites. we welcome your
suggestions as to the best sites in your valued
opinions . . .
meanwhile, details of the vhs version of lost in tv
have been confirmed. it will contain all the uk
singles, plus the drowners (us version), europe is
our playground and can't get enough (australian
version), running to something like 90 minutes. the
dvd will contain something like 4 hours worth of
stuff!
