single after." "In 1983 they both started writing on the wall. Bits of songs,
poems, favourite bands, football teams. In one corner Noel wrote
'I Love Diane Jones' and underneath, in the same writing, 'Liam is a puff.'
"They'd fight terribly about who had the most writing space," he continues,

According to an interview in a music magazine (can't remember which one) ca.
1996, Noel Gallagher said that the name "Wonderwall" came about from a wall
in his and Liam's shared bedroom when they were kids. Both of them used to
stick pictures of famous footballers or rock singers or anyone they admired
a lot, and they called it the "wonder wall". Apparently the title has nothing
to do with the George Harrison album "Wonderwall Music".
Of course Noel could have been talking crap and saying that as a
way of deflecting criticism that Oasis copied the Beatles too much....
