OASIS END CLUB DATES ON A HIGH OASIS concluded their short UK club tour last night in LONDON (May 26). The band took to the stage at the Hammersmith Apollo to play their final preview show ahead of the release of new album ‘Don’t Believe The Truth’ next week (May 30). The band played a mix of new songs, including single ‘Lyla’, along with some old favourites, in a set that echoed their recent gigs. Concluding their first set with ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll Star’, the band then returned to the stage for their encore, with Liam Gallagher dedicating ‘Songbird’ to girlfriend Nicole Appleton, telling the sold out crowd “This one is for me missus.” Oasis played: ’Fuckin’ In The Bushes’ (Intro) ’Turn Up The Sun’ ’Lyla’ ’Bring It On Down’ ’Morning Glory’ ’Cigarettes and Alcohol’ ’Stop Crying Your Heart Out’ ‘Little By Little’ ‘The Importance Of Being Idle’ ‘A Bell Will Ring’ ‘Live Forever’ ‘The Meaning Of Soul’ ‘Mucky Fingers’ ‘Champagne Supernova’ ‘Rock 'N' Roll Star’ ‘Songbird’ ‘Wonderwall’ ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ ‘My Generation’ The band are now preparing to go to New York where they play Madison Square Garden on June 22, before making their next UK appearances at their summer stadium dates, before headlining this year’s V Festivals. Considering the forthcoming American date, Oasis’ biggest there for some time, Noel Gallagher told NME.COM: “Our guy over is saying the demand to see the band is higher than what it was than when we had the number two album in the charts, which I can’t fathom that out.” He added: “We blew it a couple of times pretty seriously. So this time we said there’s no point banging our head against a brick wall, let's go out so some amazing venues.
