Oh no- I can't believe it. I've been celebrating all week and I guess we
all spoke too soon. I wanted this to be Madonna's eleventh number one in
the UK and then she would only have to surpass Cliff Richard, The Beatles
and Elvis Presley with 14, 17 and 18 number ones respectively.
I suppose we have to make do with ten number ones for now.

I am honestly devastated that AL didn't reach #1 as it joins M's
ever-expanding catalogue of number two singles in the UK-
Beautiful Stranger, Ray of Light, Live to Tell, This Used To Be My Playground
etc.
