以下是erasure官方站寄給會員的信，大致上是請歌迷務必要在發售當週購買以求在榜上有較高名次。當一個樂團落到此等地步，要用這種近乎懇求的語氣來叫人購買，是不是有點太可悲了........ （單曲是在一月第一週發行，這是全年度發片量最低的一週，沒有大片會在這週發行，因為之前的耶誕發片期早就撈光樂迷的錢啦.....所以這可能是erasure唯一進榜的機會.....） Mute Bank will not be selling the UK CD releases of 'Solsbury Hill' by mail order, as we want all of the the sales to be concentrated on UK high street record shops that contribute to the UK charts - sales through Mute Bank don't register towards the charts, unfortunately. We want Erasure to get the highest possible chart placing with this single. That's why it is being deleted from sale after one week; we want to encourage everyone to buy the single, in all three formats, in that one week. The only way to guarantee you get all three formats of this release will be by pre-ordering all three formats of the single with your local high street record shop. We want to create a sense of excitement about this new single. You can help make this happen. Erasure's fans are their greatest asset. When you pre-order the single, talk to the shop assistant. Ask them if they know about the new Erasure single. Ask them about the different formats. Ask them whether it is true that it is only going to be available for one week. And then, after you have done this, go to all the other record shops in your area, and pre-order all three formats of the single there, too. Ask about the single, the formats, the availability. This will make a real difference. If a shop assistant has three or four different people asking about the new Erasure single in the space of one day, they will remember it. They will realise that there are a lot of Erasure fans out there. They will realise how excited people are about this new single. Go in tomorrow. And then go in again next week, and the week after. Keep on asking. Keep on spreading the word about this great new single that you want to buy. And don't forget to phone up your local radio stations and politely request they play 'Solsbury Hill', the new single from Erasure, because you've heard great things about it from your friends and would like to hear it. If they don't play it... give it a couple of days, and then phone again. And if they do play it... phone them up and say you really enjoyed that song they just played about 'the hill', ask them who it was by, and ask them to play it again. We recommend that the best way for those outside the UK to get hold of this release is for them to contact family or friends inside the UK and get them to pre-order the CD singles on their behalf. The more people who place orders for the singles with UK high street record shops, the better. It will all count towards Erasure's final chart placing. If you are outside the UK, ordering the release from an online retailer will *not* count.
