（去香港不小心走進HMV，贈閱刊物裡有一小篇Goldfrapp的訪問） HMV music & movie guide issue55 Mar-Apr 2008 Goldfrapp releases their fourth album. Seventh Tree, which is is written by Alison Goldfrapp and Will Georgory recorded at their own studio deep in the English countryside. HMV recently spoke to the electronic duo about their new album. HMV: Why do you name the album Seventh Tree? Alison Goldfrapp: It was a tree with the number seven on it. It was a very beautiful tree, with big branches, swaying, abit like seaweed underwater. And I woke up in the mouring and decided that's it, that's the name of the album. The new album is on a psychedelic direction and sounds like another field trip to Felt Mountain. Why was there a change in direction from electronic hits on Black Cherry and glamorous Supernature to the surrealistic and warmer Seventh Tree? We kept saying "it's got to be more psychedelic, more psychedelic." And neither of us knew what that meant actually. I think it was our word for describing something that had a sort of dreamy, rural feeling to it but had also a darkness. Why took Goldfrapp so long to make this album than the previous? Our heads were bursting with Supernature after the tour. And we thought wouldn't it be lovely just to have a nice empty space? Not all this revved-up musical intensity. And when you think of an empty space you sometimes think of someone just strumming a guitar, gathered around a campfire. The problem is neither of us play a guitar. Can you tell us about the inspiration and influence about the album? A lot of the songs on this album are musicalli and lyrically about going somewhere. Your album and singles feature some striking artwork. How did you get inspired? The musical and the visual, they're inseprarable to me. When you talk about sound, it has an atmosphere and it has a feeling and colours and character. Surely, Goldfrapp has given a lot of time and thoughts into Seventh Tree and once again open a new chapter in their music journey.
