LOST IN TV - DVD FEATURING BRAND NEW SONG
The unsurpassable brilliance of Suede is to be finally captured
on DVD in November this year. SUEDE: LOST IN TV will contain
videos of all the band's seventeen UK singles including their
eight Top Ten smashes to date plus additional rarities from
around the world and exclusive footage never seen anywhere before.
The DVD is particularly noteworthy for the chance to see Suede
watching, commenting on and criticising each promo video in turn.
The videos can also be watched as normal and there is an option
to sing along karaoke-style to your favourite Suede songs.
Rare material includes the US promo of "The Drowners", the
Australian version of "Can't Get Enough" and film of the band
performing Elvis Costello's "Shipbuilding" in 1995. The films will
be complemented by further footage compiled by Simon Gilbert
especially for this release including scenes from the band's
personal archives.
The DVD will also feature a completely new song - "Simon" (from
the film Far From China) - which will almost certainly only be
available on SUEDE: LOST IN TV.
In the wake of the DVD release, plans to reissue the Suede back
catalogue with additional bonus tracks have been put on the shelf
for the time being. As the project developed it became clear that
there were more treasures in the vaults than originally anticipated.
Furthermore, the time needed to clean up and remaster some of the
older tracks would mean missing this year's deadline so it was
decided to postpone the project until it could be done justice in
the future.
SUEDE: LOST IN TV is set for release in the UK and Europe on
November 26th with plans for an international release and VHS
version in the pipeline.
