OASIS are handing back a fortune in refunds to disappointed fans - and banking
on them not cashing in the cheques.
Noel and Liam Gallagher have both signed the cheques - issued by the "Oasis
Bank of Burnage" - and hope fans will keep them as souvenirs instead.
The fictitious bank is named after the area of Manchester where the brothers
grew up.
The refunds, issued on amended NatWest Bank cheques which can be banked
anywhere, are legal.
But the band hope they'll become collectors' items.
Now, fans are facing a dilemma over whether to cash in their refunds.
Glitches
A spokeswoman said: "People can cash them in.They are quite
distinctive, so a few people may decide to keep them."
Oasis could face a pounds 1million bill after more than 20,000 took up Noel's
offer of a refund.
It came after the band's opening night concert in Manchester on June 4 was
marred by technical glitches.
Speaking from the stage, Noel told fans: "Thank you very, very much, this is
a free gig - let's have it...
"Anybody who has kept their ticket will get a full refund."
More than 70,000 had paid pounds 45 to see the band at Heaton Park. But Noel
later hit out at the large number of "cheeky" concert- goers who took up the
offer.
But he stuck to his word and refunds have now started to go out to faithful
fans.

好聰明的辦法,但也很不公平,那沒有求償的人就拿不到紀念支票了啊.
不過還是有票根就是了...
