這是我一筆友寫的,是有關於他去紐約看女王秀情形,here it goes: 寄件者: "Steven Thai" <mrthai2000@hotmail.com> Drowned World Tour As I arrived Madison Square around 7:30pm. You can really feel the excitment, Even though there wasn't any elaborting decoration(I expected to have big pictures of her hanging outside like Earl Court in London). It was just a simple big electric light sign as what they would have for any football or basket ball game, saying blah blah...present MADONNA.That's what they have outside and people were taking picture of the front arena. I saw some people dressing up in different era of Madonna's look. But not as many as I was hoping for. Usually, there is an opening act before the main show, She didn't have one this time. At around 8:40pm, the light went off, you starting hearing synthesizer started blasting and people dressed in punk style(black shirts, and pants, with black skirt over pants) started coming out to each corner of the stage striking a couple of poses than went to their section. I thought they were dancers, but they turned out to be musicians. Then, smoke started coming out, before you know it Madonna rised in the smoke from underneath the stage. Of course, by this time, people were screaming like crazy .And I was one of them. I couldn't have it, the excitment was over whelming. She was wearing black and White checker top and black/white plaid skirt over a pair of black pants. She opened the show with "Drowned World", her voice was very smooth and strong, she made this song into a vulnerable and personal. The opening was one of the very memorable moment for me, I have been singing this song ever since I saw the concert. Follow by "Impressive Instant", that was when the dancer came out with gas mask on their faces looking like out of space creatures dancing around M. At one point, M let herself fall so they could catch her and carry her to another platform. The mood was dark and futuristic. I thought the choreography of this was a bit busy and messy for me. It was hard for me to follow. Plus, this song has never been my favorite. Next, was "Candy Perfume Girl", she starting playing guitar in this, I thought it was very cool, a new thing that she is doing, and it goes well with her. Very classic Rock n Roll chic a la Courtney Love. Than followed by "Beautiful Stranger", that's when Niki and Donna came out. Niki was wearing a mohawk hairdo, and Donna's hair was tied in knots of balls that looked really cool too. There were stairs and the stage which allow them to danced and grinded on the poles and in the cage with the Mod screen back ground similar to the BS video. I was singing along with this song. It was a fun and the energy reminded me of some of her previous concert performances with her back up singers. When "Ray of Light" came up, I got crazy again and so did the audience. Eventhough there was a lot of seem to be free style dancing like the end of the video. Her voice was very strong throughout the whole song. Come to think of it, this is also another high light of this segment. I did a lot of yelling and singing along. So far, it was amazing. This is the end of first part of the concert. Now, she left the stage to change her costume. While she was back stage changing they started playing the "Paradise, Not For Me" video. The huge screen was centered at the middle of a the stage which was lid in red light. In the video, Madonna has on a traditional kimono, hair same as "Nothing Really Matter", the video showed her applying on make up, close up of her face singing and posing in Japanese poses, then images of her walking on the street with a maid following behind her.The whole video was inspired by "Memoire of the Geisha". It's much more beautiful than Nothing Really Matter. The images was so minimum with some digital affect. While the video was playing, the center of the stage was decorated with a big tree with only branches. On the branches, there were 4-6 male dancers wearing nothing but flesh tone loin cloth(like underwear), suspending themself up side down in a ball as they were silk cacoon moving slowly dangling on the branches. Can you imagined how beautiful that look. It was such a visual feast, so many element to see, my eyes were wondering all around. Then come to "Nobody's Perfect", somehow her long sleeves were removed and have left were black kimono with long gloves with red flaps attached to the gloves as they were sleeve. She portrayed a woman who have been abused, got her braid cut off by this guy who is also trying to execute her. This song was performed almost sparse with hardy any music, her voice was changed with vocoder that made it sounded weird but still very good. It's DWT version of "Oh Father" in Blonde Ambition Tour. Only her and the dancer in this performance. Part one of Mer Girl was next, I think Madonna was sitting some where by the tree singing this. Then, she disappeared for a quick costume change into a red Ninja outfit which allow her to move around easier. As music switch to "Sky fit Heaven", this song also got remixed with a Japaneseque drum beat added into it. This is when the dancer start doing Karate move as Madonna leaped and twirl up the air from wire while fighting and chasing the bad guy. It was obvious that the Queen who always jumped on the latest and newest trend was inpiration by watching "Crouching Tiger".Yes, it was an ass kicking choreography. (For a Chinese person, we are not new to this type of stunt. It must have been very impressive for the American). I have to say it was pretty cool eventhough I am not a big fan of Martial Art. Mer Girl Two return, she pull a rifle and fire a shot that was play by this Asia(may be a Thai dancer, doing all these exotic Bali/Thai type of move of throughout the Mer Girl song. I think he was probably the inner demon). Part II of the show ended showing a Japanese animated video of a girl being raped by bad guys while playing the remixed music of WIFLFAG. Here is my review for Part III - Country Western Segment. I have to admit after the second act. I pretty ran out of energy scream and tired from standing. She opened with "I Deserve It". The lyric was very well writtin, but it wasn't my favorite. She played guitar and sat on some rock playing that song. I decided to sit down as well. One thing I noticed was that she was smiling finally. "Don't tell Me" followed. She danced with her dancers pretty much as the music video. The stage was decorated like a barn with a big showing a horse running. "Human Nature" was a good song after "DTM", since they have similar beat. This is one of my favorite video. In the concert, it also has similar choreagraphy, but this time cow boy theme with rope instead of S&M. black leather. "She suddenly becomes more approachable it seems as she talks to the audience, she dances, she sings, line dancing. Audience goes crazy". I think this is the song she rode on the mechanical bull. "Oh Dear Daddy", I wish she sing one of her old hit rather than this silly song, I believe she came up with. She also talked and told joke with a souther accent. It was her more friendly moment I supposed. But I thought it was the weakest part. If everything were perfect, it might not be that great because it didn't give me a change to make some criticism. right? "Secret", her voice sounded a bit off beat to my ear for some reason. She stood at the center of the stage playing guitar while singing this beautiful song. She pull it off quite well. However, I prefer the original hip hop version rather than this folky rendition. I was so happy to hear her sing "you'll See" instead of "gone". She sang "Gone" at during the European part of the tour. Anyhow, I love "You'll See", and she sang it so beautifully. Act IIII opened with dancer dancing to the music of "Don't Cry for Me Argentina". It was such a teaser, people were really hoping that she would sing just a couple verses of that song. But it was purely instrument. I forgot how did she appear on the stage, but she was wearing the bare back Gaultier shirt dress and a pair of pin stripe trouser. Her hair was pulled back in Evita-esque style. She sang WIFLFAG in the spanish. I much prefer the English version. However, the Spanish version went well with the whole theme. Here, Madonna re-interpret the meaning of this song by presenting all female dancer dressed in 1930s lesbian style dancing with each other. They all have short hair, wore men's trouser with white tank top and suspender. I thought it was really cool. I am this number probably got Ingrid hot and bother. hee hee. La Ista Bonita, very spanish like. Madonna sang and played the guitar. She pretty much just took around with her dancers, nikki and Donna in a semi circle watching one guy flamingo danced. It reminded me of something you would see at a street corner in South America or Spain. Very raw and ethnic feeling. Then, she went back in and changed. Came out with a black tank that say "Mother" at front and back say "F*cker", long fur coat and red fedora sing "Holiday". By the time, the entire audience went NUT! Even the most conservative people(her hold fans) got up and dance and scream while she was performing this classic hit of her. At the end pf the song. She throw the fedora to the audience. She went back in to change again, then came out singing "MUSIC". It was a good performance, but I have seen this song performed on different shows for a few times. So, I wasn't as thrill as some other people. Time went by so fast, before you knew it. The show was over. -- Hey MS.Madonna Put a record on I wanna dance with my baby When the music starts I never wanna stop It’s gonna drive me crazy -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.csie.ntu.edu.tw) ◆ From: 203.64.23.154
