May 15, 2001 - Michael Jackson's upcoming album is one "hot" recording, according to rumors from inside the studio. Given how long it's been since he had an outright hit, the naysayers may not believe it, but those in the production studio say this album will put the spring back into Jackson's moonwalk. "I'm recording across the hall from him at the hit factory and you should hear the buzz," said LUTHER VANDROSS, whose self-titled album is due June 19. "The assistant engineers, that's a real good monitor, a real good gauge for whether or not it's hot in there. They come back and they say, 'oh it's so hot in there, it's great, the music is really sounding good, everbody's gonna really love this." Vandross has also been bumping into the King of Pop around the studio and says he is in good spirits. "He seems great, he seems just fine, well-adjusted and everything." [ABCNews] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- May 14, 2001 - Michael Jackson may not want to sell the rights to his Beatles catalogue just yet-sources say his album is definitely premiering in September to coordinate with his live megaconcert on September 7, and it's sure to sell. "The album is done," one insider assures us, "and it's so good people will forget all about the pedophilia allegations. When the public hears this....It's amazing." It is said that this will be the most expensive album ever made. [NYPost -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- May 14, 2001 - Rising rapper LUDACRIS has been approached by MICHAEL JACKSON for a future collaboration, NMEHIPHOP.COM can exclusively reveal. Speaking to NMEHIPHOP.COM yesterday (May 10), the rapper said that pop diva Mariah Carey and R&B queen Missy Elliott had also made moves in his direction. "Michael Jackson, man! He might wanna do something and Mariah Carey also and Missy, a lot of people," said an excited Ludacris. "I mean it's definitely a blessing. But Michael Jackson has to be the biggest of all. That's pretty big. We're trying to figure out if that's gonna go ahead 'cos he's working on his album and we're just trying to get the negotiations right. You know that the music and the track and everything and if the collaboration is going to be solid. So that's what we trying to find out."
