TODAY部落格的另篇文章, Coming together – the new music video for an old fave 有MV拍攝圖文: http://blogs.todayonline.com/poparazzi/2010/12/17/coming-together-the-new -music-video-for-an-old-fave/ 或 http://tinyurl.com/34t8l9t QUICK! What do army training camps, Kit Chan and our DPM Teo Chee Hean have in common? At first, not much. But as I guess you’ll all have heard by now, Kit Chan was recently at SAFTI MI to film portions of the new music video for one of her big hits, Home. Yes, that song, originally written by Dick Lee to be just an ordinary pop song tribute to Singapore that ended up as being an NDP song, is now being used to promote Total Defence Day next year. And also you also probably know, Kit got musicians from each era of Singapore ’s pop history to take part in the recording of the new version of the song. Some of the artistes taking part included Vernon Cornelius, Max Surin, Moses Vadham, Maggie Teng, Ann Hussein, Jimmy Ye, Taufik, Joi Chua, Stefanie Sun, Olivia Ong, JJ Lin, Chen Weilian, Rani Singam, Alemay Fernandez, John Molina, Shabir and loads more. And about 19 of them were at SAFTI MI filming a “We Are The World” type segment. And yes, Da Abang was invited to be there too. Why, you ask? Let’s just say, before I became Da Abang – and this was back in the day when I was famous – I was the guitarist from AWOL. So, I was supposed to represent the ’90s “indie” scene. And yes, I see the irony of the band name and returning to an army camp (especially since I don’t need to do reservist any more). While filming the music video – along with about 18 other guests stars – DPM Teo popped in to see how things were doing. One of the people he spoke to was Ramli Sarip, aka “Papa Rock”, aka Da Man, who said something about Singapore “needing the soul of rock and roll”. If DPM Teo was puzzled by that remark, he didn’t show it. Instead he smiled and thanked everybody for taking their time to do this (all FOC by the way, okay?) Filming a music video is no joke – the waiting time alone is super sian, some were there from 10am to 9pm - but thanks to the people, it was quite fun. It was like catching up with old friends. I even got to be in a scene with Ramli, Max, Alemay and Joi, which was quite funny, because I was like the least famous person there, and also Ramli couldn’t stop joking. No prizes for guessing which one I am... Anyway, the music video proper will air on Feb 15, so keep your eyes peeled for it. Who knows, you may even catch me in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-him spot. Meantime, here are some shots from the day. Enjoy. Sheikh Haikel, Kit Chan, John Molina and Jacinta Abishgenaden Kit telling the story of how she and Rani Singam used to be in school plays Max Surin, moi, Alemay Fernandez, Joi Chua and Papa Rock It only takes a spark (or in this case, sparklers): Kit, Rani, Chen Weilian, Max, Joi and Alemay have a CNY moment "Don't point it at anybody!" The director offers tips on how to hold the sparklers. Ann Hussein, Rani, Alemay and John chillaxing as they set up the next video scene. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 61.64.106.22
