CHEMISTRY'S BIOGRAPHY
CHEMISTRY is R&B male duo debuted in March 7, 2001.
The duo, Kaname Kawabata and Yoshikuni Dochin are winner of winner,
singled out of 19,100 applicants at "ASAYAN Danshi Vocalist Audition.
"ASAYAN is a famous TV entertainment-audition program, from which
national idol, Ami Suzuki and Morning Musume debuted. This open-to-the
public audition was held from October 1999 to January 2001 on TV. Battle
after the battle, they remained final four, and pre-debuted with the
single "Saigo No Yoru" last December. This single was quantity-limited
product with the total manufacturing of only 35,000 pieces, but it was
sold out soon, and charted 9th on Japanese version of Billboard, ORICON
chart instantly. Out of three possible combinations of duo by final
four, Kawabata-Dochin team became the happy winner in January 2001.
Debut single "PIECES OF A DREAM" has a touch of R&B taste, but this
medium beat and catchy melody will come deeply into your heart.
Producer is Kiyoshi "KC" Matsuo, who is popular for Toshinobu Kubota,
and Ken Hirai. This single had been charted #1 on ORICON chart, and has
been sold unexceptional figure of over one million copies so far !!!
After releasing 2nd single "Point of No Return", the duo made a 1st visit
in Taiwan, and performed on MTV SUMMER SUMMIT 2001, which was a success.
For 3rd single "You Go Your Way", 48-hour only video clip web-cast was done
worldwide, and made the record of 1 million hits in just two days ! Release
date for 1st album "The Way We Are" was November 7, 2001. It features couple
of collaborations with other artists as Keiko Lee and DABO. The sales of
this debut album is over 3 million copies!!
At the turn of the year, global-scaled news came to CHEMISTRY. The duo was
selected as a member of the 2002FIFA World Cup TM Official Artist unit
"Voices of Korea/Japan", which consists of CHEMISTRY, Sowelu(new SMEJ female
artist), Brown Eyes(Korea), and Lena Park(Korea).
2002FIFA WORLD CUP TM OFFICIAL "KOREA/JAPAN" SONG "Let's Get Together Now"
was released on Mar. 13, 2002 in Japan and in Asia.
Their 4th single "Kimiwo Sagashiteta ~ New Jersey United ~" is released on
May 9th.
The duo will keep on their evolution by the act of "CHEMISTRY", as their
artist name shows.
