LATEST: British guitar band BLUR have confirmed reports they are heading back
to the studio, but are making no firm decisions on recording a new album. The
famed group, who had hits in the 1990s with Parklife and Song 2, have never
officially split but haven't made an album since 2003's Think Tank. However,
drummer Dave Rowntree admits they are heading back to the studio in October
(07) to see if they can reclaim their musical magic. He says, "We will spend
one week recording and see what happens. We're dipping our toes in the water.
We have not made any decision but we'll see how we feel." Rowntree is
cautiously optimistic though, as it's a strategy that has proved successful
in the past. He adds, "That tends to be the way albums start. That's how the
last one started. We get together and either we say 'it's not the right time'
or we say 'brilliant.' We don't want to prejudge the issue right now."
