http://www.dotmusic.com/news/April2003/news28887.asp Wed 2 Apr 2003 14:22 BLUR EXPAND THINK TANK Blur's forthcoming LP - 'Think Tank' - will be the group's first album to credit additional songwriters, dotmusic can exclusively reveal. Throughout their 13-year recording career, Blur have always shared songwriting credits equally between band members Damon Albarn, Alex James, Graham Coxon and Dave Rowntree. The only exception to this rule was the 1997 album track, 'You're So Great', credited solely to the band's recently-departed guitarist Coxon. However, in Coxon's absence, two new songwriters (namely James Dring and Mike Smith) have made their way onto the sleevenotes for the band's long-awaited seventh album, 'Think Tank'. Dring (Albarn's first cousin) is credited as co-writer on the dark dub track, 'On The Way To The Club'. He has previously worked with Damon as assistant engineer on Blur's 'Black Book' (the b-side to 2000 single, 'Music Is My Radar') and on the Gorillaz b-side, 'Film Music'. Elsewhere, US saxophonist Mike Smith is credited as co-writer of the lengthy avant-garde number, 'Jets', and is also thought to be responsible for the indulgent sax solo that closes the track. Coxon - who confirmed his acrimonious departure from Blur in October 2002 - is credited on just one track of 'Think Tank', the last song, 'Battery In Your Leg'. 'Think Tank' is released in the UK on May 5, with the single - 'Out Of Time' - due to reach stores on April 14. -- 一進dotmusic首頁就有三則blur新聞說 -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.csie.ntu.edu.tw) ◆ From: 61.70.206.23
