BLUE’S DUNCAN JAMES is to be a dad – after a fling with his ex-girlfriend.
The heart-throb singer had a summer affair with a former love — known only as
Claire — and now they are expecting a baby together.
He told me last night: “I’m overjoyed with the news. Claire has been the most
amazing friend to me over the last seven years. Having this baby together will
keep us connected for the rest of our lives.”
The baby is due in April and the pair will bring up the child between them but
WON’T get back together as a couple.
A pal of pin-up Duncan says: “Claire and Duncan were an item for ages before h
e was in Blue and they will always remain very close.
“He has stayed in touch with her and they talk all the time on the phone. They
are total soulmates and Duncan is fiercely protective of her.
“He has always done his best to keep their friendship out of the limelight. Sh
e is not the type who is desperate to go to showbiz parties.”
Duncan always speaks fondly about Claire — whose surname he refuses to reveal.
He said last year: “My ex Claire’s my soulmate. She’s broody so I said I’d
be the father. She cried and said ‘I’ll have your babies’.”
It will mean that all four members of Blue are dads or dads-to-be.

That’s enough for a whole new boy band in about 15 years’ time.
The boys’ greatest hits album, Best Of Blue, is out on November 15.
