It consists of an electronic circuit that takes the signal from a standard guitar pickup, amplifies it, and feeds it back into a separate pickup coil. When set up and used correctly, the result is a continuous sustained note that can be used as is, or treated to create new sounds or emulate traditional instruments. Infinite Guitar 是 Michael Brook先生發明的主要是藉由電子擴大機將一段旋律加強之後放回原來的旋律中的一種技巧造成一種無限迴旋的效果用得好的話可以無限延長某個音或是模擬某些傳統的樂器 In addition to his own instrument, based on a Tokai Strat copy, Brook produced two Infinite Guitars, one of which belongs to Daniel Lanois. The other belongs to The Edge of U2, who famously used it on "With or Without You" from 1987's The Joshua Tree. Michael Brook先生打造了兩把Infinite Guitar 一把給了Daniel Lanois 一把給了The Edge The Edge後來在With or Without You中應用這個技巧 (就是曲子一開始聽到的一個很長的電子吉他的音曲子進行中也多次出現) The principle has been the subject of patent litigation in the past, and is currently available commercially in several forms, including the EBow, the Sustainiac and the Fernandes Sustainer.
