Hi~ COLOR readers, Chinese New Year is coming soon and for sure. It's going to be a big day for many people across the world. As for myself, since I'm Korean, raised in the USA, I have never really celebrated it. Plus, I never had a clear understanding what people do during the new year. However, being in Taiwan for over half a year, I started to get into the Chinese culture and began accepting it. Also, the guys often talk about their past experiences with it and gives me get a better feeling for what this day is all about. Well, I'm very excited to this is my very first year I'm celebrating it. Just a simple celebration though. I'm probably gonna just head over to one of my best friend's house and have dinner with his family. I really want to play with fireworks but I'm sure that I'll get trouble for that over here. In Taiwan, it would be a different story. Maybe this year, if I get lucky that is, my friend's parents will understand it's my first Chinese New Year and I'll get my very own red envelope! I doubt that they'll give me more than a buck but hey, I'll be happy with just the envelope! Or maybe I should start kissing up to them starting today. Anyhow, I'm really looking forward to it and I wish everyone in Taiwan a happy and joyful Chinese New Year. Be careful with thouse firecrackers! --john-- -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 61.224.65.173
