Shy Howard confessed he is nervous about doing anything by himself and needs the support of his bandmates around him. Speaking to me at the aftershow party for hot new movie Stardust, Howard said: “I could never do what Rob has done and get up there on stage by myself. “I’d be terrified. I’m nervous enough as it is with the other lads around me. “The idea of going solo fills me with dread — that’s why I never really had a solo career when Take That split up. “I love having the others with me on stage, and doing TV interviews. I’d clam up if it was just me. “I sometimes worry I should be doing more of the talking when we do interviews, but I’m a bit shy. I’ve never wanted to be up there in the lights on my own. I need to be part of a band, it suits me perfectly. “I really don’t know how Rob copes with all that pressure on him. “It must be incredibly stressful to go out there on stage by yourself knowing it’s all down to you.” Thankfully Howard, at the party with girlfriend Marie-Christine Musswessels, needn’t worry about that kind of pressure. When he kicks off the new Take That tour in Belfast next week, he will have bandmates JASON ORANGE, GARY BARLOW and MARK OWEN on stage with him. The lads have promised the show will be bigger, better and more spectacular than any they have ever done — which is quite a statement when you consider how sensational their reunion tour was last year. Mark, Howard and Gary, with wife Dawn, took a night off from rehearsing for the tour to attend the party at the London home of Stardust director MATTHEW VAUGHN and his supermodel wife CLAUDIA SCHIFFER. They have been locked away in rehearsals for days on end and Mark, below left with fiancee Emma Ferguson, was certainly knocking back the lily. Mark said: “I’m not looking forward to a hungover rehearsal session tomorrow. It has all been going well and we feel ready for the show. But sometimes it’s dead boring when you spend ages working out which light should go where.” Where was Jason? Mark revealed: “He didn’t come out tonight. He wanted to pack everything for the tour. “He’s quite organised like that. I’m just enjoying a night out.” At the Stardust After Show Party ... PROUD dad Mark told me his year-old tot Elwood has started speaking – and his favourite word is “builder”. The youngster is fascinated by the real-life Bob The Builders working at his house, and Mark said: “He says Dada and stuff – but he loves saying builder. We’ve had them in for ages so now he’s used to them.” HOWARD wowed party guests by speaking to German host Claudia Schiffer in her own lingo. He lives in Germany and has a German girlfriend so he’s picked up a few words. He told me: “All I did was introduce myself and my girlfriend to Claudia. I know a bit of German but not that much to show off about.” STARDUST director Matthew told me ROBERT DE NIRO was to blame for the lethal vodka martini lily served at his house after the premiere. He said: “One of the things De Niro insists on is the perfect vodka martini. He told me you have to have it served right in front of you so that its very cold.
