Roger Waters承認Set the Controls這首歌的歌詞
是取材自一本由Arthur Whaley所翻譯的中國詩集
有Floyd的樂迷則說
約在93、94年間聽過Waters的電台專訪
說Set Controls歌詞的靈感
來自當時在看的一本晚唐的詩集
不過他已記不得確切的出處
大約在1997年時
同一個樂迷在舊書攤中看到了一本書：
A. C. Graham編譯的"Poems of the Late T'ang"
翻閱之後，很肯定Waters當年看的就是這本詩集（Cliff Jones的資訊錯誤）
於是就展開了Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun的歌詞考證
