入圍兩項 Best Act In The World Today Best Live Act 2006 Q Award Nominees Announced The nominations for the 17th annual Q Magazine Awards have just been unveiled with Arctic Monkeys, Muse and Snow Patrol all featuring pretty heavily in the list of potential gong botherers. One of biggest award event in the calendar – and traditionally one of the most star studded and controversial (remember Elton John slagging of Madonna?) – the Q Awards ceremony will be held at Grosvenor House on October 30. This year’s runaway act in terms of nominations are the Arctic Monkeys, who have picked up an impressive four nominations, including ‘Best Album’ and ‘Best Live Act’. They’re closely followed by Muse who’ve garnered three nominations, including the prestigious ‘Best Act In The World Today’. There will also be a number of special awards celebrating outstanding achievements in music in addition to the categories see below including the ‘Outstanding Contribution to Music Award’, which will be going to Soul legend Smokey Robinson. Expected to appear art the bash are Kasabian, Arctic Monkeys, Oasis, Razorlight, Gnarls Barkley, U2 and Lily Allen Q Editor Paul Rees said in a statement, “The Q Awards, uniquely, are voted for by genuine music fans – the Q readers. They are a fine, upstanding body, and once again they have recognised the year's best music in all its diversity. “This year's Q Awards coincide with the 20th anniversary of the magazine. As a result, the event will be particularly special this year.
