Nicola’s day with Oasis star Published on 18/05/2006 HARD man of rock Liam Gallagher showed his softer side recently when he bought a Whitehaven woman a drink outside a London pub. Nicola Fleming, 24, of Mirehouse, was sitting in the sun in Primrose Hill, London, when the Oasis frontman asked to borrow her cigarette lighter. The two started chatting and he was more than happy to pose for a photo with Nicola. “He asked what I was doing down here and he kept coming back and forth for a light,” she said. Liam, who has built up something of a bad reputation over the years, was with band mates outside the pub and Nicola could hear them talking about Jude Law. “Liam was really friendly and was interested in what I had to say, he kept asking me questions,” said Nicola. Later on in the day, Nicola met up with friends Gail Willis, 26 and Angela Harrison, 30, both from Whitehaven who work at the British Cattle Movement Service and were on a course in the capital. They came across the band again and spoke to Liam and he was happy to have another photograph taken with all of them. “Liam acted like an old mate with Nicola and she kept saying he was a top bloke,” said Angela, a big Oasis fan. With the paparazzi also taking shots outside the pub, it certainly proved to be a day to remember for the Whitehaven women.
