As planned Madonnas's gig at LA's Staples Centre went ahead
last night, the levels of security were tightened in the light of recent
events which added to an almost surreal atmosphere-Madonna
clad in an American Flag instead of the usual tartan kilt-during the
segment where she usually sings "Oh Dear Daddy" spoke about the
recent tragedies in the US- she said, "WE ARE ALL TO BLAME,
not just Bin Ladin. If you are homophobic or racist or hate, you
contributed to this disaster. Killing people in the name of God has
nothing to do with God" -after the moment of silence, she climbed
the stairs for secret and added, powerfully,"If you want to change the
world, CHANGE YOURSELF!-at the end of Mer Girl. After ripping
off her wig, she grabbed the gun, pointed at the man and took a good
five or six beats. She thought about it and she put it down...walked over
to him and brought him with her to where the floor brought her
underneath the stage-all profits from the LA shows will be given directly
to aid the victims of the tragic East Coast disaster.
