Jodi Jury to View Manson Dvd

The Jodi Jones murder trial is to view a Marilyn Manson "gothic horror"
DVD owned by the teenager accused of killing the schoolgirl, it was
decided today.
In a taped police interview with Luke Mitchell in the week in which
Jodi's body was found, the High Court in Edinburgh heard officers
question the then-14-year-old about a CD he bought two days after
Jodi's death.
Mitchell described the bonus DVD, that came with the Golden Age of
Grotesque CD bought on July 2, as a "sort of really gothic horror
thing like with Marilyn Manson talking over it".
And after hearing the account, prosecutor Alan Turnbull QC prepared to
question Detective Constable Stephen Quinn, 43, one of the officers
taking part in the interview at Dalkeith police station on July 4 last year.
But Donald Findlay QC, defending, asked why the police officer should
be questioned about the content if the defence were prepared to play
the DVD in court.
Judge Lord Nimmo Smith said it was "perhaps safer" to go straight to
the DVD and suggested the jury of seven men and eight women could be
shown it tomorrow.
Mitchell, now 16, denies murdering 14-year-old girlfriend Jodi on June
30 last year at a wooded area near Roan's Dyke, between the Newbattle
and Easthouses areas of Dalkeith, Midlothian.
