How should I start? 我想你已經接受過上百萬次的訪問了所以我該如何開始呢? (訪問人也挺搞笑的) Chester: I have no idea. I cannot say. 我也不知道阿 (你問我我問誰) ENERGY: Or lets say whats a bad question? 那怎樣的問題是個爛問題 Chester: I can give you examples of that questions. “How did you started”? That would be a terrible one. Or "how was the work with Rick Rubin“? We had to answer those questions over hundret times over the last one and a half year. 我可以舉一些例讓你聽聽你們怎麼開始做音樂的這個就很爛或是跟Rick Rubin合作的感想這些問題我們過去一年半已經講過幾百遍了 Or” how did you get your band name”? “How is the german audience in comparison of the other audience?” 或是你們怎麼取團名的? 或德國的聽眾和其他地方的聽眾比起來怎樣? XDXD ENERGY: All right I dont have any of those question. If the word Linkin Park was in a dictionary what would be written undearneath it? 很好我沒有這些爛問題XD 我的問題是如果LP放入字典的話下面的解釋會是? Chester: uuuh thats a good question. I would like to say something smart but ehhh.....maybe someone else can do that. Next question. Maybe someone smarter can answer that one. 恩.....這是個好問題我很想給你一個很聰明的答案但是恩........... 或許有人能夠回答下一題啦或許有更聰明的人能回答這題 (小查被問倒了XD) ENERGY: “We made it” is your current single and its with Busta Rythmes. Can you tell us something about it? We made it是你們和Busta Rythmes合作的新單曲告訴我們一些事情吧 Chester: Yeah we met him when we did Hybrid Theory. We were new in the business and we were excited to meet persons who were really importnant. And we met Busta and through the years we are friends. I met him at the Transformers Premier in Los Angeles and he came to me and said: “We have to do something together”. 恩我們和他在HT時就認識了當時我們還是新人所以認識樂界有力人士很棒我們這幾年來都是朋友我跟他在變形金剛的首映會碰到面他跑來問我說我們應該一起合作些東西 And I was like Yeah and after 6 months we had a track and Mike and I listened to it and we both were excited. Everyone knew that its gonna be a great track and it had to be one. We don’t collaborate very often. With Jay- Z it had to be something amazing and it was the same with Busta. We recorded our part in Taipei. And the song came out very well. 我就說好阿六個月後我們拿到一個樣本 Mike和我聽了我們都覺得很棒我們不大常和人合作和Jay-Z的結果很棒和Busta的也是每個人都覺得這會是首很棒的歌我們在台北錄了我們的部分出來的成品很棒 (哇哈哈台灣被提到了) ENERGY: Can you tell me some moments when you thought “we made it”? 你可以告訴我們有哪些時候是你覺得 we made it Chester: Well, I knew when we were going on our first tour, at that point, was like, okay, this is all you dreamed about, you go on tour with your band and you signed a record contract. And now we made it. But I always dreamed of golden records, just like in the TV shows in the 70s and all the great rock stars and the golden records on the walls. I always wanted one and when we got our first one for “Hybrid Theory”, I cried a little bit. I knew that we had accomplished what most people don’t accomplish. 恩我想應該是我們第一次巡迴演出的時候這就像你一直夢想這件事情和你的團一起巡迴和唱片公司簽約而現在我們達到這個目標了但另一方面我一直夢想有個金唱片就像70年代的電視節目中那樣很棒的搖滾明星牆上掛著他們的金唱片我一直很想要一個而當我們真的拿到HT第一個金唱片的時候我哭了我知道我們達成了很多人無法達成的夢想 (小查真感性XD) Energy: I can give you another success: “What I’ve Done” is the song in 2007 we played most on our radio station. Thank you guys. 這的確是一個很棒的成就太棒了謝謝你們 ENERGY: Are there any other stars you want to work with? 還有什麼其他明星你想和他合作呢 Chester: I think I worked with the people I wanted to work with. Slash is doing a new record and he asked me wether I want to do something and maybe we will do something together. He is really cool and we are friends. It would be something special for me. 我想我已經和很多我想合作過的人合作過了 Slash(槍與玫瑰前吉他手)正在做新專輯他問我我願不願意和他合作所以我或許會跟他一起合作一些東西 (哇! 讚!) 他很酷我們是朋友所以這會是很特別的經驗 ENERGY: LIATR is you new single. What is it about? 你們的新單曲leave out all the rest 是在表達什麼? Chester: Well everyone has his own interpretation. Mike didnt want to tell me what he thought when he wrote the song. So when I hear the song its about being at the end of the road, at the end of the life or at the end of a relationship. you kinda wanna reremember the good and bad things although it mostly, like in a relationship, doesn’t end in good terms. Nonetheless, there were always some good things about the relationship and you hope the other person also remembers those things. But it can also be about sthing in your life you want to think of afterwards, just think back of the good and positive things you‘ve done in your life. It’s kinda deep, you know. 恩每個人都有自己的解讀 Mike寫這首歌時不願意告訴我他在想什麼當我聽到這首歌時我的感覺是這是一個盡頭這是生命走到終點時或是這是一段感情的結束而你想要記得所有發生過的好和壞的事雖然一段感情通常是壞的結束但是你希望對方能記得好的回憶也有可能是當你回想你的過去你希望記得所有好的或正面的事情其實有很多很深的含意 ENERGY: Are you working on a new album? 你們在做新專輯了嗎? Chester: We are wroking on new music. I think we have to write about 300 songs until we finally can chose the right ones. But everything is going on well and I think that there will be a new record next year. 我們在寫新音樂了但我想我們應該要寫300首歌才能從中選出好的但是目前一切都進行的很棒所以我想明年就可以出新專輯了!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (你確定你說的不是你自己的solo album? 按過往的龜速會這麼快嗎XD) ENERGY: Is there any song which you wish you wrote it? Maybe a famous one? 有什麼歌是你希望那是你寫的像是什麼有名的歌 Chester: There are a lot of songs. Classic Girl or all songs from Depech Mode. I would like to know how it would be to be in the band for example Depech Mode or The Cure. I just know how it is to be in Linkin Park. But there are a lot of great bands out there. 那太多了啦 Classic girl或是Depech Mode所有的歌我很想要知道在Depech Mode或The Cure這些團裡的感覺我只知道在Linkin Park時的感覺但這個世界上有太多很棒的樂團 ENERGY: i always wanted to ask you that question. Doesnt it hurt to sing, scream like you always do. Singing that loud? 我一直很想問你這個問題你每次唱歌都這樣一直吼喉嚨會不會很痛 (我們也很想問) Chester: You know. Im getting older and Im asking myself: What are you doing to yourself? My knees arent that what they used to be....also my kondition. But my voice is getting better. Sometimes, it hurts. It depends There’s a right and a wrong way to do it. And you definitely feel it when you do it the wrong way. 恩你知道我現在越來越老啦我問我自己覺得自己的身體如何我的膝蓋不像以前這麼好啦但是我的聲音卻越來越好有的時候這樣唱歌的確會痛啦不過是看情況 (用喉嚨痛搏嘶吼嗎?) 要這樣嘶吼有正確和錯誤的方式如果你使用錯誤的方式馬上就會有感覺的 (恩所以說大家不用太擔心小查會失聲了嗎?
