"Birthday surprise!!" Minogue posted on Twitter on Tuesday (May 28) -- which doubled as her 45th birthday -- as well as a stream of "Skirt," which squeezes in a generous helping of revved-up dubstep production before its crescendo reintroduces Minogue's fluttering voice. The track was produced by Nom De Strip and co- written by The-Dream, whose voice can be heard making breathy exclamations beginning at the 2:03 mark. In February, Minogue announced that she had joined Jay-Z's Roc Nation management team while remaining at Parlophone as a recording artist. The veteran pop singer joined artists like Rihanna, Shakira, Timbaland and Solange on the Roc Nation management roster. Minogue had previously been managed by Terry Blamey since her 1987 debut, and had amicably parted ways with Blamey last January.
