Dear Ron,
How are you? I wonder if you remember me. I am the previous vice-president
of Michel Jackson Taiwan Fan Club. I am now in California for graduate
school, striving to work as a MFT (marriage and family therapist.)
I know that you have always been an advocator for Michael in Taiwan, and
I deeply appreciate it. Monday, June 6, American time, is expected to be
his verdict day. At this particular moment, I and many people who care
about him are extremely anxious. Not to mention how stressed Michael is.
As Fox News's live that is just playing right now, a blood machine is just
sent to Neverland.
I have been following the courtroom transcripts since the beginning of the
trail. Fairly speaking, I do not see any reason why he should be convicted
to any of the accusation. The accuser and his family's testimony was
inconsistent and falling apart. They even admitted to their lies on the
witness stands. There is no either direct or convincing circumstantial
evidence for molestation. From all witnesses and evidence, Michael has
never served alcohol to the kids. Instead, the kids were busted stealing
alcohol from Michael's wine cellar. They even demanded and threatened
Michael's bartender to add alcohol in their soft drink. False imprisonment?
That is a total joke. All witnesses have proved that the family had no
sign of limited freedom and that they actually enjoyed their time with
Michael Jackson and during travel.
There is only one reason left to convict Michael - PREJUDICE. Especially
after Scott Peterson's case, a human being's life can be eliminated
based on circumstantial evidence only. How much faith can I put on to
the justice system? Even more, for Michael's trail, the jurors are free
to come and go. They are exposed to the media, which is mostly biased.
I can only hope that they are strong enough to stay objective to look at
the evidence and the truth, instead of using the prosecutor's so-called
"common sense."
People can dislike Michael. They can think that he is strange. Yes, he
is strange, but crime is not determined by strange behaviors. Acting
strange does not make a person criminal. Legal wrongdoing makes a person
a criminal, and it is determined by objective evidence based on legal
definition.
If you and all your audience care for justice, whether you all like
Michael as a person or not, I request prayers from all of you. Pray
for vindication. If he is wrongly convicted, let's pray for his, his
children, and his family's peace.
Peace and love,
Lillian Chen
