By Yap Geok Hui (Click on pictures for larger image) Without a doubt, after 8 years in the music industry, Kit Chan's concert is long overdue. Finally, that is going to come true, in 2 months' time, come June 9. "I hope my supporters will come in anticipation and leave in gratification that it has been a great party, one of the best shows that they have watched," says the high-spirited Virgo. What you can expect for her concert The "national homecoming party, which is going to be a show with a heart" (quoted from her manager, Colin Goh), is to be held on an all-around centre stage in Indoor Stadium, which can seat more than 10, 000 fans. For that, the 28-year-old laments, "I'm a lazy person. At least, this will motivate me to exercise to build up my stamina." Exercise is not going to be the only thing on Kit's mind for the next 2 months. She will undergo various forms of training in order to perfect the all-important gig. "We wish to present the different aspects of Kit through the staging." says Colin. Therefore, audience will get to see a sexy Kit, a dancing Kit and other sides of her amidst a crooning Kit in the $800,000 production. "As for being sexy on stage, well, as part of the performance, it's to be expected, but it will be in good taste, " she promises, before assuring us that she will present a wide selection of songs, some of which will not be her own songs. "It's to showcase what I can do with them, through different packaging," explains the determined woman who knows what she wants. "When my instructor goes, 'Kit Chan needs no training, she already knows how to sing', I beg to differ. I still need proper training, especially my voice stamina, so as to ensure that my voice won't wear out after 2 hours." However, voice stamina is not the most difficult thing to the winner of various awards (including Best Newcomer in 1994 and Best Local Artistes awards in 1995, 1999 and 2000) in Singapore. Body language or 'energy' is her utmost concern. "Audience whom I'm back-facing should be able to feel my 'energy' too. I don't want to present a lifeless back to them, it must be alive," she laughs, "It sounds abstruse, doesn't it?" Well, we shall be anticipating how you do that, Kit. As for which artiste(s) has the honour of being Kit's guest(s)-of-honour, the usually straightforward songstress turns coy and refuses to let the cat out of the bag. She is only willing to disclose that the ideal guest would be a he, from Hong Kong and that an unconfirmed local group may also be performing that night. Well, I guess we will all know come June 9. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.csie.ntu.edu.tw) ◆ From: g883456.SHAN.ab.nthu.edu.tw
