Lead role a first for Kit
WHILE singer Kit Chan may not lack acting experience --
she was in Jacky Cheung's hit musical, Snow. Wolf. Lake,
as well as the Teresa Teng tribute -- Healing Hands II
is the first time that she is taking on a leading role
in a drama serial.
In the 40-episode TVB sequel to last year's hit, she
plays an emotional but professional doctor working
under Bowie Lam, who reprises his role as the Casanova doc, Henry.
The two of them complete a love triangle with Hongkong
actress Flora Chan. Lam and Flora were last seen on TCS 8's
Untraceable Evidence -- he as the Ah Chek detective, she as
the icy pathologist.
Although Kit and Lam have yet to shoot any passionate scenes
together, both have nothing but praises for each other.
And speaking of singing, the trio in the on-screen love triangle
are likely to record one of the songs on the soundtrack of the drama
serial.
Cantonese is no problem for Kit, who belongs to the dialect group.
In fact, instead of her co-stars coaching her in it, she has been
giving them tips on how to speak Mandarin instead.
Says Lam in Cantonese: ""She is so good. She can speak Cantonese,
Mandarin and English so fluently. I'm learning from her.''
Lam will be appearing in another drama serial, Ultra Protection, on
VV Drama (SCV Channel 55) next month.
Healing Hands II is likely to be shown in Hongkong in November, and
in Singapore, only next year.
