Guns n’ Roses will perform in New York on May 15th and 17th
This will be the first live show in 3 years for Axl Rose’s band,
in anticipation of their European Tour, which kicks off at Rock in Rio-Lisboa
May 27th.
Before starting their European tour, Guns n’ Roses will perform twice at the
Hammerstein Ballroom in New York.Details of the performances, which are
scheduled to take place on May 15th and 17th are as yet unknown, but according
to the promoter, Live Nation, tickets will go on sale from April 21st and on
the days of the concerts, the Ballroom’s doors will open around 7:30 pm.
Expectation about Guns n’ Roses has been building worldwide. Fans are anxious
to see, once more, a band that has helped write music history. They are also
anxious to hear the new album, ‘Chinese Democracy’, which has been in the
works for quite some time now.
A few songs, allegedly part of the new album, were leaked on the Internet in
February, but officially the album is still unknown to the public. The two
concerts taking place mid-May are the bands’ first performances in three years.
Matt Sorum ‘no hard feelings’
Matt Sorum, currently the drummer of Velvet Revolver and previously a member
of Guns n’ Roses – he was Steven Adler’s replacement – wrote in his blog
about his recent encounter with Axl Rose in New York."I hadn't seen him in at
least six years," he wrote. "I walked over and said 'Hello.' We shook hands
and it was pleasant. Later that evening, I ended up in a loft somewhere in
the East Village where Axl was again. We spoke for quite some time, and it was
nice to clear some things up. I told him how great a frontman he was while I
was in the band and no hard feelings from me at all. It was an all-around good
vibe, I think.
" Guns n’ Roses’ first European concert will be held May 27th at Rock in
Rio-Lisboa. The last one on this tour is to take place in Oslo, July 8th.
The band’s line-up for the Tour has not yet been released and is announced
as a ‘surprise’ for the audience.
