Aguilera's 'Back' On Top
Christina Aguilera notches her second No. 1 album with "Back to Basics" and
achieves the seventh biggest debut of 2006 ... The entire top five of The
Billboard 200 are debuts, which is only the third time that has ever happened
...Other acts opening in the top 10 this week: Lyfe Jennings, Trace Adkins,
Cherish, the soundtrack to "The Cheetah Girls 2" and Obie Trice ... In

Josh Turner and a record-setting debut on Hot Country Songs for Keith Urban.
Aguilera not only celebrates her second No. 1 -- following her self-titled
debut in 1999 -- she also claims the best week for a solo female since Mary
J. Blige's "The Breakthrough" began with 727,000 in December 2005. If we
whittle it down to solo female pop singers, then we need to skip back to the
arrival of Madonna's "Confessions on a Dance Floor" in November 2005
(350,000) ... Aguilera's last album, "Stripped," started with 330,000 at No.
2 in November 2002. (The set was stuck behind another new entry, the
soundtrack to "8 Mile.") While the 346,000 start of "Back to Basics" is the
big-voiced singer's best debut ever, it's not her best sales week. There were
two weeks during the Christmas season of 1999 when her self-titled set moved

Aguilera's new album was ushered in by the inescapable "Ain't No
Other Man" single and video. The tune became her first top 10 hit on The
Billboard Hot 100 since "Beautiful" hit No. 2 in 2003. As far as the video
goes, MTV and VH1 whole-heartedly embraced it. It was the most-played clip on
MTV for the week ending Aug. 20 with 29 plays, according to Nielsen BDS. At
VH1 it was No. 3 with 27 airings ... Aguilera also made recent stops on "The
Early Show," "Good Morning America," "Late Show With David Letterman" and
"TRL."
