Cannes faves including Coen Brothers' new movie also headed to Toronto in September Jun 21, 2007 04:30 AM Martin Knelman Entertainment Columnist Cate Blanchett will launch her bid for a 2007 Best Actress Oscar at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, the Toronto Star has learned. The Golden Age – in which Blanchett reprises her role as Elizabeth I – will have its premiere at the Toronto festival prior to its wide theatrical release in October. Blanchett, who won an Academy Award in the Supporting Actress category for The Aviator (2004) and was nominated for last year's Notes on a Scandal, first played the Virgin Queen in the 1998 movie Elizabeth, which earned seven Oscar nominations, including one as Best Picture and one for Blanchett.
