CATE Blanchett stole the show at last night's charity bash, the Variety Heart
Awards. The actress arrived fashionably late - she was held up at rehearsals
for the play Hedda Gabler - to the ceremony.
Within moments she was presented with the Film Award by fellow actor Steve
Bastoni, which is voted on by her peers in the entertainment industry.
She said it was an honour.
"It's such an extraordinary charity and they do such wonderful work," she said.
