By Kendis Gibson CNN Headline News Thursday, March 13, 2003 Posted: 12:37 PM EST (1737 GMT) (CNN) -- They play different styles of music, but lately some performers are all singing the same tune. Rocker Jon Bon Jovi admits, "I'm very antiwar." Singer Sheryl Crow says, "Nobody wants to rush into a war." R&B songstress Ashanti says, "[It's] such a sad thing to see so many young men having to go out and fight the war." From rappers to rockers, a number of pop musicians are going on record protesting a possible war with Iraq. British rock star Sir Elton John said he worries about possible repercussions of a war such as terrorist attacks. "I'm not a big war fan anyway," John said. "I hate to see anybody's sons and daughters lose their kids over something that is presented as an imminent danger. I don't see it as an imminent danger." Bon Jovi and his band mates often show support for U.S. troops during stops on their "Bounce" tour while maintaining an antiwar stance. Television and movie stars also have been vocal protesters against a possible conflict. "West Wing" star Martin Sheen is probably the best-known celebrity in the antiwar movement. John Travolta, who recently trained for a movie with troops being deployed to the Persian Gulf, admits he has his doubts. "That was rough because you'd make friends with the battalion and then they'd go off," Travolta said, "and I was like, I wonder if they're going to come back. [It's] kind of scary that way." Saying they fear war could begin soon, some musicians and actors are raising their voices and seeking to strike a different chord with audiences. 應該會打起來吧.... -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.csie.ntu.edu.tw) ◆ From: 61.224.3.22
