Lee and Liz had been trapped together in a New York hotel during the World
Trade Center atrocity last September and both later split with their partners
on returning to Britain.
But Liz says: "There was no romance between Lee and me. We had some fun
together on a few dates and are good friends but nothing more.
"We fancied each other in that kind of way you do with someone who makes you
laugh and you feel comfortable with so weflirted ?but it never went further,
never got intimate. I've only had one lover, that was Tommy.
"I'd known Lee for a while before I went to New York because we shared the
same record label.
"He'd told me he thought I was good looking but you can walk past someone and
think, `They're good looking' and then carry on. It doesn't have to be mean
any more than that. We became close friends when we were staying in the same
hotel, doing promotions, in New York when September 11 happened.
"I was really upset and Lee was a rock for me. We relied on each other. it
was a very unsettling time, frightening, and we clung to each other."
